Beaches & Nature
White sand, and Tavolara ahead
Seven beaches within a short drive, three marine protected areas, granite coves and a lagoon full of flamingos. This is the stretch of Sardinia people cross the sea for, and the village sits right on it.
The Beaches
Seven beaches, all shallow and white
The white sandy beaches around the village share the same gift: clear, shallow water that suits everyone, from toddlers to long-distance swimmers.
The nearest are Porto Taverna, Cala Girgolu with the granite Sassi Piatti, the famous Cala Brandinchi known as Tahiti, Lu Impostu, Capo Coda Cavallo, La Cinta and Porto Istana. The first one starts fifteen meters from the apartments.
Marine Protected Areas
Three marine parks, one blue horizon
The islands of Tavolara and Molara rise straight out of the bay. You reach them by boat from the residence or from the small harbour of Porto San Paolo.
From Palau or Porto Rotondo, boats cross to the Maddalena Archipelago. And further south waits the Gulf of Orosei, where trips visit the sea cave Grotta del Bue Marino.
Beyond the Sand
Granite paths and pink flamingos
The granite rock formations of Sassi Piatti are minutes from the village, and the small bays of Cala Girgolu are reachable on foot. A few kilometers inland, Monte Nieddu hides waterfalls, small natural lakes and woods, best explored on foot or by mountain bike.
By La Cinta beach near San Teodoro, the lagoon turns pink: flamingos wade there for most of the year.
The village sits in the middle of all of it.
